In the 1970´ies, the Artist Otto Piene (1928 -2014) created a series of huge inflatable sculptures called “Airquarium” exhibited in New York. Now, in 2023 the material of the original sculptures already had decomposed. So I was asked to rebuild these sculptures of new better TPU-material and improved welding technique. I had to reconstruct the original design just by means of some old blurred black& white photographs from the 70ies, and the memories of Günther Thorn who was Otto Pienes assistent back then. The new reconstructed sculptures have been presented in Schirnhalle Frankfurt in the “plastic world” exhibition.
